COC has blogged

Umm, yeah, so, it’s about time. Awesome.

The COC blog is supposed to be a much easier way for us to communicate what we got going on. While the “mothership” website is fun, it’s difficult to update and, well, isn’t really designed that well (forgive…).

Hopefully the blog will allow COC fans, participants, and supporters (we know you’re out there) to interface with the company on a much realer level. You can make comments, ask questions, look at pictures and (hopefully) videos, and just be generally pleased about your COC experience.

Part of the reason we decided to launch a B-Log, is that we (as in Ryan Tracy and Chris Schiavo, COC’s Visual Director) are currently in the middle of a five-day residency at Mt. Tremper Arts (way up in ye olde Catskill Mountains) which has commissioned COC to make a brand new opera–Scarlet Fever–for their summer festival. We’re excited, and working hard, and we wanted to share with you some proof that we are actually working as hard as we’re saying.

So here we go!

This is the awesome studio we get to work in:

The Studio

Here’s a close-up of the desk I set up, where I write, reference, procrastinate, and shout ideas across the studio to Chris, who is probably doing yoga, and tolerating my general lack of game plan.

And lastly, the gorgeous view we wake up to every morning (if it isn’t rainy and foggy). That’s the main house, where the kitchen and common area are, and where MTA founders Mathew Pokoik and Aynsley Vandenbroucke reside in peace and quietude:

The House, and the Hill

Tomorrow I promise to post some photos with real actual people in them.

Until then, rest assured that we’re chugging along in an effort to make some brand new opera for a culture that desperately needs it. Even if they don’t exactly know it yet. We’re fine with stalking.

Love always,
COC
